I'm going to give Dr Evil another run as a BH rubber with approx 1mm of sponge with Hurricane 3 on the other side. I tried it out briefly Sunday and it took a while to adapt from hi-spin to lo-spin on my BH side but after 1-2 hours it started to work.
Pros:
- does generate an anti spin effect when you drive against top spin drawing opponents next shot into the net, or contrawise, chopping against chop will draw an overhit.
- can be used to drive against chop or low rev topspin. Great placement and very flat drives.
- Generates a lo-spin, slow bounce which can cause opponent errors when there is also hurricane 3 on the same bat.
Cons:
- counter hitting against hi-spin topspin is difficult and ball may float long. But chopping against heavy topspin is usually easy to control and can be beneficial.
- Yet to fine tune odds and sods shots like BH smash for this rubeer. This could take a while due to low volume of practice on this type of shot.
Will try it out in comp play for a few weeks and see if it suits my style of play.
